Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Fira: In Indonesia, asking how someone is right after greeting them is pretty common. I think Indonesian people like to talk about what’s going on with them at the moment, especially elderly ladies, so it can be a great conversation starter. However, Indonesian people are generally hesitant to talk about their negative experiences or why they don't feel very well, so they’ll usually only say positive things about their day.

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
